K9s for Warriors is the nation’s largest provider of trained service dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and military sexual trauma (MST).
Their mission is simple but powerful:
Rescue dogs. Train them. Pair them with veterans. Save two lives at once.
How the Program Works
- 🐶 Rescue First: Most K9s for Warriors dogs come from high-risk or high-kill shelters.
- 🎓 Intensive Training: Each dog undergoes months of professional service-dog training.
- 🎖️ Veteran Match: Veterans participate in a 3-week, in-person program where they bond with their new service dog and learn how to work together.
- 💙 Life-Changing Impact: Graduates report reduced symptoms of PTSD/TBI, improved independence, and renewed hope.
